WHAT IS METALJAM ABOUT?

Four aliens dominate the music industry in a luxurious futuristic galaxy shaped by ancient mythological origins—forces so potent they still pulse through modern monsters today. Juggling dark romance, family feuds and trauma, they build their careers as independent artists while maintaining a dangerous secret: their secondary lives on Earth. Disguised as humans across co-existing timelines, they chase fame and fortune in the human realm, but celestial laws forbid bonds with individuals outside of their species. As they influence massive audiences and navigate both worlds, they must stay humble and remain in the shadows—because too much attention, too much magic, could potentially destroy the equilibrium of all timelines in existence.

DISCLAIMER

The science and biology behind this fictional alien species has no intention of being referenced by real-life facts enough to make sense in every aspect. This was purely made from imagination with very little inspiration or reference to follow, and things that do make sense or seem accurate were a mix of coincidence and minor basic research. A lot of this has areas of cartoon logic and most likely contains flaws.

There are mentions of religion, but they don't closely follow any real-life religions and are made-up facts applying to alien beliefs in their world—’religion’ is merely a word here.

* there may be other sensitive topics throughout this text, also unrelated in comparison to real-life instances.

THE ANATOMY OF AN ALIEN

Their main vessel can have either rubbery skin or fur depending on whether they are a water alien, land alien, or mixed species.

placeholderwide.png

WATER ALIENS

Water aliens evolved from ancestors who primarily lived in water as creatures, animals, and sirens. These aliens are born with water-tolerant skin, excellent swimming skills, can survive long periods underwater without coming up for air, and are able to convert to living life completely underwater if they desire. Some may have gills, scales and/or webbed skin between or around fingers, toes, underarms, face, or neck—but not all do. These aliens are naturally considered half sirens (not full sirens, because all aliens have evolved to possess mixed species backgrounds by default, due to evolution causing changes in the race and different aliens mating to create new species over time).

They are incapable of possessing fur unless they were born and raised in colder climates—'arctic water aliens'—which is considered a slightly different subspecies than any of the others. Although they can't grow fur, they do sometimes possess varied levels of body hair, though usually more prominent in males, and even more common in aliens who are mixed with both land and water genetics. Water aliens have tough, rubbery, very oil-prone skin compared to other species. This trait was adapted from ancestors to survive in water and be somewhat 'waterproof'. Their skin can potentially also be bumpy or rough if they have scales or special features.

placeholderwide.png

LAND ALIENS

Land aliens are fast and agile on their legs and at climbing. They may have tough human-like skin with a fur layer on top, or may have smooth skin during warmer months and only grow fur when the seasons cool. The colder the weather, the thicker their fur grows, then it sheds away as temperatures gradually rise. Improper weather fluctuations may cause them to shed excessively or experience hormonal changes, as their body tries to predict the weather patterns to keep or lose fur and can't identify consistent temperatures.

These aliens tend to constantly sweat more than water aliens and keep themselves warm effortlessly. Sweat is rarely visible because the fur often absorbs it, but the alien can always feel it and may experience discomfort or a 'clammy' feeling in their fur. In ancient times, land aliens were classified as prey and often hunted or captured by non-climbing subspecies (like water aliens and mixed species) or wild animals, because they were easily found due to leaving fur behind as they shed, and they were all defensive about sharing and stealing each other's captured food when harvests were scarce. This made them evolve to climbing and living in trees to escape danger. They often migrated back and forth between cold mountains and muggy forests.

placeholderwide.png

ARCTIC ALIENS

Arctic aliens are any alien (water or land) who are adapted to living entirely in cold, arctic climates. Throughout history, aliens have traveled far and wide across the galaxy and learned to live in various weather conditions anywhere. These specifically evolved from aliens that once lived in warmer parts of the world, who adapted and had offspring in the cold. They are almost anatomically identical to their warm-living counterparts, but they constantly have thick, non-shedding adaptive fur formulated to keep them safe from cold conditions and arctic predators. Their fur is usually longer and less saturated in color for blending with snow and ice.

Many aliens haven't chosen to venture that far into the world, so arctic aliens are considered a 'rare' subspecies and rely solely on their offspring to grow in population, rather than outside visitors. Many of them don't verbally communicate, and both land and water arctics are great at hunting fish. Land arctic aliens are more common because a large percentage of land aliens often climbed to mountain territories and lived in cold forests, while water aliens spend most of their time swimming in a single body of water without leaving much. Arctic water aliens are frequently called 'arctic siren aliens' for their increased animalistic nature, scales and gills that help them spend over 90% of their time underwater—many of them commonly have tails and webbed limbs mandatorily, but can shapeshift. Most water aliens visited the surface more often than not, especially closer to the time of ancient civilization and now, but arctic ones prefer to stay underwater as much as possible.

placeholderwide.png

MIXED ALIENS

Aside from every alien's mixed ethnic and astrological backgrounds, a land alien and water alien mating together will create a mixed alien made up of both species at once. These aliens undoubtedly possess denser claws and thicker or larger teeth due to the overwhelming mix of both powerful races, and possess equal ability to navigate land and water with ease—with some limitations. Although, some aliens have a preference for navigating either land or water and don't experience both enough to be simultaneously skilled at them.

These aliens are not invincible over other single-race aliens, and because they're mixed they have a more balanced navigation skill rather than superior (they may have the bare average record time breathing underwater for a water alien, compared to the top record time a full water alien could breathe for, or can climb basic tree heights before reaching exhaustion compared to the maximum lengths a full land alien could climb). These mixed aliens are more likely to possess body hair (their more balanced form of 'fur' due to their mixed skin type and half land alien genetics) which can be dense or thin depending on each individual, behaving similarly to human body hair. Despite this, they can have any combination skin type of either parent species.

placeholderwide.png

Aliens can also be mixed with the same element but both arctic and non-arctic, or a non-arctic and arctic species of different elements (for example: water alien + arctic water alien, or water alien + arctic land alien mix). These mixtures can create limitless combinations of bodily features and appearances.

If one alien parent is a mixed alien and the other isn't, their child will possess more of the most present race (example: water+land mixed father x water mother = 2/3 water, 1/3 land offspring). The traits of the most prominent race will be the alien's main skillset (if the alien is mostly water, they will be born predominantly advanced at swimming and minimally average at climbing).

ADDITIONAL NOTES ON SPECIES

*It is completely possible for an alien to be made up of multiple and any mythological species like vampires, succubus, angels, demons, nymphs and many more. Despite this, this specific species of alien can never be part human. They can take the form of a human via shapeshifting, but physical contact with humans in the form of relationships, beyond the purpose of observation, is prohibited for them, limiting the possibility for human-alien born children. Breaking this rule could result in a health related curse on the offspring, or a complete inability to conceive in the first place. Aliens belong primarily on their own galaxy, and the frequency between them and Earth doesn't match enough to live there consistently in human contact without causing damaging energetic glitches across timelines.

*All aliens, no matter their species, sometimes put on extra weight during the winter. The more they consume, especially nutritious foods, the more fuel their body has to utilize blood and other functions to keep them effortlessly warm. Today, since aliens are all over the galaxy living in various shifting climates, it's common to see them fluctuate diets to accommodate and not have to rely on clothes to keep them warm—primarily those without fur, like water aliens (almost all aliens with fur are seen in the snow wearing short sleeves and feel fine). Being out in the cold without adequate clothing is more common among longhair fur aliens, since shorthair fur isn't as thick and cold sometimes creeps in). Every alien has a different body type and responds to weight differently, and some don't even mind being cold and won't increase their food intake at all.

FUR/HAIR/SCALE PURPOSES AND SKIN CONDITIONS

placeholderwide.png

Fur keeps them warm and catches debris to protect their skin. Fur changes in thickness depending on how cold or hot the weather is. Body hair is a basic evolutionary trait similar to the purpose of human hair and a result of mixed genetics. It can be shaved by the individual if desired or they can keep it. It will just get thicker and darker, behaving just like human body hair.

Some aliens are shorthair (shorter, softer fur that provides basic warmth and usually appears smooth), and some are longhair (visibly dense tufts that provide extensive warmth and doesn't shorten much during shedding).

If an alien has birthmarks or spotting and fur simultaneously, the spots will often not have fur or hair at all and may be a slightly different texture than the rest of the skin, almost resembling a smooth, soft nail texture.

Fur can be optionally trimmed or shaved by the individual for any personal reason, but they must use an electric trimmer. They can use scissors, but it's risky, uneven, and time-consuming. If they wait too long after fur has grown out to shave it, the skin under it may be sensitive and pale due to lack of exposure, sometimes leading to skin irritation.

placeholderwide.png

Some water aliens grow scales only when constantly exposed to hot weather and dehydration because their scales trap and store moisture between them to accommodate. These scales harden and flake off when temperature is normal or water intake is increased. This process may be painful if not treated with care and moisturization. These scales can resemble fish or reptile scales depending on the individual.

A mixed alien may or may not have both fur, hair, and/or scales at the same time. One or the other will usually be chosen depending on what genetic was strongest during their growth prior to birth. They may grow different features they are capable of possessing per weather or health fluctuation, when conditions are extreme enough that the body initiates change to protect itself. Unstable health and weather can lead to skin conditions like dryness, mild rash, acne and eczema if the body isn't being looked after very well (dehydration, bad hygiene, or lack of moisturizing).

No matter the type of alien, they all have individual skin types (oil-prone, dry-prone, neutral) and some species are simply more common to inhibit one of these (like how water aliens are expected to be the most oil-prone). Similar to humans, each individual is different due to the genetic traits of that alien and things inherited from parents. In ancient times, plant remedies and teas were relied on to keep skin healthy, and although still used in modern times, they have evolved to using skin products mass produced by companies for convenience.

BODILY TRAITS

placeholderwide.png

All aliens possess claws and fanged teeth, though they are all different. Mixed aliens, especially those with equal parts or more land alien make-up, are almost guaranteed to have the most dense and large teeth and claws (land aliens were known for primarily gripping and chewing through trees in ancient times, so their species adapted to it with stocky, thick teeth and claws. Water aliens had narrower, longer, and sharper teeth and claws for cutting into small, shelled, or plant-based seafoods). Some aliens may have short teeth and claws, protruding or crooked teeth, many or few teeth, a combination of long claws and short teeth, teeth or claws that are sharper or rounder than usual, a mix of both at once, etc.

An alien's claws and teeth are obviously dangerous when intentionally used, equivalent to a wild animal's. Modern aliens often use their claws for daily activities like opening or breaking packaging, and they do accidentally scratch themselves, walls, and furniture. Their average grip and jaw strength is extremely high, but they’ve learned to be more careful and gentle over time. Their claws are retractable, similar to cats, so the full length of their claws isn't always visible and appears like a normal thick nail. Their fingertips and palms have special padding that appears as a cushioned thickness, adapted from navigating early alien environments.

placeholderwide.png

Almost all aliens possess a long tongue, some being shorter than common length or having a different shape. They are capable of smelling with their tongues, and this was an important trait to navigate seas and lands when searching for food in ancient times, and looking out for poison through the smell of fumes plants give off. This feature was inherited years later when water and land aliens started mating, which soon introduced the reptile ethnic background and became a staple genetic strand in many aliens. Their tongues resemble the function of a snake or lizard's.

placeholderwide.png

All aliens have whiskers but you cannot always see them. They can be located on the forehead or any position on the scalp, and on the cheeks. Whiskers heighten an alien's sense of direction, vibration, and alertness to sound frequencies. This allows for aliens to have more accurate prediction skills and protect themselves from potential threats, radiation from other creatures or devices, and stay in alignment with moon cycles, sun positioning, and time shifts without the need for clocks or physical observation.

Males typically have longer, finer whiskers and females have shorter, thicker whiskers, but anyone may have either. Longer, thinner whiskers pick up more pitch frequencies, sounds, and hallucinogen vision capabilities, while short and thick whiskers pick up more vibrations and directions. In direct terms, long whiskers hear and see the energies around them at a fast and auditory speed, and short whiskers feel energies, which then convert into their own independently perceived visual information after being processed through the brain. If an alien ever seems startled, strange, or zoned out, they are likely absorbing energetic sensory information through their whiskers.

placeholderwide.png

An alien's nose and ears are located as skeletal holes covered by tough but thin skin, allowing them to smell and hear. Specifically for the nose, not only are there hidden flat skeletal nostrils, but their skin contains special nerve endings that send scent information through the nostrils directly to the brain. These nerves and the skin located in that area are especially sensitive and have just a couple times less scent receptors to that of a cat, which is many times more sensitive than human scent receptors. Their sense of smell paired along with their whiskers allow for higher intelligence and memory for finding places and people by following its recognized scent and frequency.

As for hearing, they have slightly larger ear canals than humans, covered by a unique patch of skin allowing them to hear and feel through it. Aliens have somewhat average hearing like humans, especially since they pick up most frequencies through their whiskers, preferably ‘seeing’ sound rather than just hearing it alone.

placeholderwide.png

When injured or bleeding from the nose or ear locations, the skin will hold that blood and redirect it back into the body, rarely causing any blood to actually leave the skin unless it was deliberately punctured through. The more blood, the longer it takes for the patch to clear up (days to months if not receiving care), and the alien will require medical assistance to quicken the process and healthily heal the mishap.

Injuries on other flesh parts of the body react and bleed normally, requiring bandaging and skincare, or in severe cases, stitches. A healthy alien can regenerate its health at an unusually fast and seamless rate, so extensive medical assistance by a professional is rarely needed for injury unless the alien has bad health or is unable to help themselves for some reason.

placeholderwide.png

If an alien has extra limbs or retractable body parts, they are born with the bodily functions to rearrange their bones and organs painlessly to make space for them. Some aliens may have unidentified or duplicate organs and nerves that assist them with additional limbs and body part functions (horns, tails, arms, legs, genitals, face or mouth features, etc.). Aliens typically have the same chronological set of organs as a human would in addition to their extras. Because aliens often have hidden features, they typically grow larger than many other creature species so their body has space to contain several functions. Despite this, there are still many small and average-sized aliens.

IMMORTALITY & REGENERATION

All aliens are immortal. The location they are in the universe allows for so many duplicate timelines to exist that death is insignificant. That alien will be alive in many other worlds and can shift their subconscious to experience a different timeline or alternate universe they already exist in.

Despite immortality, severe injuries or health problems mimicking death can occur, though the alien can simply regenerate itself and come back to life over time or with medical assistance. This 'death mimicry' would feel similar to falling into a coma. The alien's soul may or may not allow them to hear what's going on around them, but their body will be shut off. Injuries such as amputation, deep wounds, or missing skin or organs can be regenerated at different speeds depending on the alien's health and how bad the injury is. They can regrow any part of the body, and if an amputated limb is nearby or accessible, it will slowly reconnect itself within hours, or minutes if they are in their absolute true form or have optimal health.

Reconnection occurs much faster than regrowth, which can take weeks to months. When an alien is experiencing regrowth, their range of motion and activities will be limited due to discomfort until they are finished regrowing. Lost blood cells can regenerate themselves effortlessly once the vessel is sealed and protected from any open wounds. If the wound isn't sealed fast enough and too much blood is lost, the alien will pass out to shut off the rest of the body so the blood has more energy to focus on closing the open wound. Any time the body perceives a threat and notices a vital necessity missing, it will begin regenerating to protect itself and feel regulated again, even if that means temporarily sacrificing another bodily function for safety.

Aliens do in fact feel pain normally, but if they experience death mimicry, their memory from the previous injury or cause may be blurred and extremely hard to recall. This can potentially lead to PTSD if the pain is remembered, but it usually can't be.

HOW AGING WORKS

In the alien universe, every alien is born with a life chosen for them by the alignment of astrology during birth. This given life path has their personality, life events, choices, milestones, soulmates, and connections all prewritten across an infinite uncapped number of alternate timelines. In this path, a specific legal age of maturity is set for them to reach, the youngest being 20 and the oldest being 100. This age affects physical appearance differently, entirely depending on how the alien takes care of their body over the course of these years, developing their own recognizable persona.

Once this age final is met, their body, voice, and personality is frozen in this form for the rest of eternity and is locked in as their identity—with the exception of minor changes they make to themselves through self-care or gradual shapeshifting. They can still acquire knowledge, change, or gain maturity after this point, but they will mentally process it at the same speed and manner someone their final age would.

All aliens are aware of their 2 ages: their final age and their age since birth. An alien with the finalized age of 27 may be 1,200 years old in actuality, and they all keep track of this number. Once aliens hit their final age or 'maturity level', their other age (the true age) will continue growing and growing, even if over trillions of years pass from that point. If the number becomes uncountable, the alien won't mind losing track of this as they have their birthdate on record and access to tools that will count their years for them. These galaxies and aliens can very well outlive the existence of earth.

HEALTH CONDITIONS AND HUMAN SIMILARITY

Aliens function very similarly to humans, but at a faster, more intelligent rate and with additional strengths such as regeneration, heightened senses, and physical abilities.

As far as similarities regarding health ailments, most known health problems that exist are mental health-related. Because the alien body can aid itself at supernatural speed, is highly tolerant to extreme substances and conditions, and environments are strictly well-managed in their world, immune system problems and diseases are nearly unheard of. Fevers, colds, allergies, some skin conditions, and brain signal mishaps are about as close as aliens can experience regarding 'illnesses', and with assistance and knowledge, they can all be cured.

Most mental disorders and neurological conditions can be experienced, but with care and therapeutic activities they can be regulated and comfortably managed. Mistreatment, stress, discomfort, neglect, and abuse from oneself or other aliens can cause or worsen mental health problems. It's widely considered against the law to deliberately or consistently cause distress to an alien, even if doing it to oneself since they pose a threat to worsening themselves to the point of also hurting others. If the alien causing distress is out of control of this due to having their own mental differences, they may be admitted to seeking mandatory care, and any aliens who may have been affected in the process are offered optional health assistance to recover and make peace.

APPEARANCE AND GENETICS

placeholderwide.png

Many aliens are capable of bioluminescence. A selected part, or multiple parts of their body has the ability to glow for reasons such as divine connection, extreme positive emotion, or intense levels of pleasure. It has been studied that once the emotion is felt through the heart, increased blood flow sends signals to the body part and brain, initiating it to glow. This is an ancient old form of communication, used to let other aliens know that they are safe and friendly, and also to communicate at night.

Alien bioluminescence originated from water aliens, who absorbed bioluminescent water and some sea animal structures into their DNA, gaining the ability to mimic it for both camouflaging with other bodies of light, and attracting mates or prey. Centuries later when mixed breeds were introduced, land aliens picked up the genetic strands and were able to carry bioluminescence through their birthmarks and spotting. Because glowing was commonly triggered during feelings of pleasure and other positive events, the meaning changed over time and was no longer used as bait or camouflage, but a friendly sign to alert others or express love.

BIRTHMARKS AND SPOTTING PATTERNS

Birthmarks are often stripes or symmetrical shapes on an alien's body, and spotting is often asymmetrical or circular patterned shapes on an alien's body. These are both things every alien is born with or develops in childhood. Although the meanings are slightly different, the names are typically blended and used to refer to the same things.

placeholderwide.png

Large families usually have the same type of birthmarks as one another. But, if an alien mates with another who has a completely different pattern, the child's pattern will be unpredictably different from both of them, or only take after one of the parents. Not all aliens have obvious birthmarks, some having very unnoticeable ones or ones in locations they've never seen, like their back for example. They may appear like moles, freckles, or tiny spots anywhere on the body, but no alien is completely spotless.

Sometimes aliens can easily be born with patterns that don't resemble their parents or siblings at all, and there are many families full of members who all have different colors and an assortment of different patterns despite their parents sharing similar ones. There are also many who have large patches of birthmarks or body discoloration all over them.

It is possible for two aliens to have the same birthmarks, but no two are completely identical. Even if they are the same color, the shape, quantity, behavior, or positioning will always be different even in the slightest. All birthmarks have microscopic coding, similar to the concept of a fingerprint, which is never the same as anyone else's even if they are twins.

BIRTHMARK BEHAVIORS

placeholderwide.png

All birthmarks have changing characteristics contingent upon different individual factors the alien may experience, such as health and hormone changes, or emotions. They can change in size, texture, shape, or color depending on the individual alien, and even families with the same type of spots may either have similar or completely different spot behaviors.

For example, Rosa's spots turn metallic texture when she is experiencing great positive emotion, matte when normal or any other emotion not listed, and fuzzy or prickly when she is sick or extremely sad. Her spots are not immediately responsive to minor health or emotional changes. Lis's spots are extremely sensitive to minor emotional changes and turn bright fuchsia when experiencing any good emotion, and turn dark to even black when experiencing negative emotion or any kind of discomfort, almost immediately after becoming aware of the feeling.

Some birthmarks, especially stripes and small shapes, do not have many behaviors besides processing bioluminescence. This is predictable in aliens who have white birthmarks. Birthmarks that lack pigmentation or hues don't typically change when affected, unless they contain high levels of melanin (spots that are naturally always black in color, although these are commonly known to change size rather than color).

Aliens are not in control of what their spots do, and the only way they can stop them from changing is if they have extreme control over masking or changing their emotions, or quickly recovering from sickness. This isn't always healthy to do and may lead to bad habits, but many aliens don't appreciate that their spots often show emotions they wish they could hide from others.

THE HISTORY OF BIRTHMARKS

placeholderwide.png

The common nature of aliens having birthmarks initiated in ancient times when natural chemicals and bacteria in the habitats where aliens lived would affect their skin. Their bodies learned to accept these bacterial imbalances and evolved to regulate it, which showed up as spots and patches on their body with different behaviors and communicational functions for survival. Their offspring obviously adopted these skin traits and were born ‘infected’ with the same bacterial cells their parents picked up that caused their skin to change.

As aliens became aware of moon cycles and astrological connection in early civilization, children were intentionally given birth to by gods and deities where their patterns would be naturally designed in symbolism to the alignment of the stars during the time they were born. This introduced a new wave of aliens with symmetrical patterns like stripes and nearly perfect shapes. These children were praised as symbols of nature by their parents and outside civilians, and later raised to be rulers in obedience to the symbolic pattern they were given.

In the growth of early civilization, spotting gained more symbolism by having correlation to both astrology, but most importantly animals and insects. This expanded the characteristics of spot behaviors acting in new ways other than just color changing and bioluminescence, now sharing similarities with the traits of the animal patterns and defensive behaviors their birthmark may be associated with, especially considering that aliens have animals to describe their ethnic backgrounds rather than having actual cultural races like humans do.

Reptiles being such an ancient staple ethnic background allowed for spots to change colors for emotional expression and camouflage. This also unintentionally introduced a later era of aliens who were able to change their entire body color, sometimes on command. Many aliens in modern times can do this and don't know it because it rarely happens or is never thought of, and some aliens may change in only one large spot of their body, such as the abdomen, hands, feet, or face for any reason. Even if an alien has fur, their skin under it will still change and affect the color of their bioluminescence in that area.

In modernization, spots and birthmarks have evolved to be seen as normal and equally special no matter the type or symbolism, and they are all symbolic of animal ethnic backgrounds and astrology with plenty of possible functions inspired by all kinds of organisms.

Texture changing behavior in spotting did exist long before civilization, but the amount of aliens who had these types of spots slowed down significantly during early civilization due to strict mating preferences in hopes of raising gods with specific birthmarks. The DNA for this ability became sparse until modernization occurred, reintroducing it along with other functions due to an influx of offspring being born by mixed parents, which provided an abundance of the cell structures needed for the texture changing spot behavior.

An alien can grow new spots and functions as their body matures, similar to how a human may acquire a new mole or freckles. It's not extremely likely to happen, but absolutely can.

WHY BIRTHMARK BEHAVIOR, BIOLUMINESCENCE AND COLOR CHANGING WORKS

placeholderwide.png

When the alien body feels something, it will send brain signals to direct increased OR reduced blood flow to an area it wants to manipulate. The blood movement activates nerves which send information back to the brain, telling it what the body part or birthmark should do in response to a trigger (like changing color, size, texture or glowing to let others on the outside know).

The body perceives this as a survival instinct to let the individual and other aliens know that it’s feeling something seemingly important, enough that it should be seen and helped with. The alien body can be openly needy and wants to be in optimal condition at all times, seeming to have a mind of its own for the individual's best interest, even in non-threatening scenarios.

Example: When Listphere's stomach turns colors, his body sent signals to increase the blood flow in his abdomen, letting him know that he is either starving, full, or sick, and busy self-aiding internally. This is an attempt to express urgency so he will treat his body accordingly and not ignore it (if he's full or sick, give his body time to rest from eating things. If he's hungry, he should eat or drink immediately).

TRUE FORMS

placeholderwide.png

All aliens have a true form which is a natural state where all hidden features, symbolisms and body functions are fully visible. This is where aliens get called 'monsters', because their true form can appear monstrous or horrific to an uneducated individual.

placeholderwide.png

This term has been accepted and appreciated by aliens since early civilization, because they think it's impressive, unique, and rebellious to be seen as a monster or creature. Instilling fear in species who don't understand them often chased others away, leading to aliens being left alone which was good for the population’s preservation—although it eventually led to loneliness, distrust, and antagonization when attempting to associate with non-alien species since they appeared dangerous. They only wanted to protect themselves by looking scary and overpowered to avoid being captured and killed.

Aliens have at least 3 forms in total: the first form being their basic, tame appearance, the second form being their appearance where only some of their mild features may be visible (additional hidden limbs, wings, horns, tails, etc.), and their third form, which is scientifically referred to as the deity form, where the alien may morph into an unrecognizable creature. Aliens before civilization all naturally looked like this until they learned to hide their features, for the sake of being able to socialize without scaring other species.

An alien who is a religious deity (those in tribes and such), even when not in their ‘deity form’, is still considered a deity because of their committed daily involvement in spirituality and trained normalization of being in the true form. This allows for divine connection and ancestral channeling once they learn to control their form and remain composed in it, since most modern aliens today have lost touch with routine ancient spiritual practices and their different forms.

The deity form is different for every alien. Families sometimes have similar recognizable forms to one another under deity ‘classifications’, almost as if deity forms can come in their own species (like a deity class may be known for having many arms and insect-like mouth parts, while another class is known for having many teeth and overgrown wings). This is similar to how bugs come in different colors or types, even though they're under the same species (wasps, ants, flies, spiders, ect.).

They may have additional eyes, mouths, grow significantly in size, have horns, additional birthmarks, visible bioluminescent auras, halos, voice changes, and other nearly infinite combination possibilities. These forms also reveal alien ethnic backgrounds, with features that are similar to animals and insect traits (like a deity form with an insect mouth and enlarged antenna for aliens who are racially wasps).

THE DEVELOPMENT OF TRUE FORMS

Baby aliens in modernization are naturally born in their 2nd form and don't learn to hide certain parts until they're about 5. Simultaneously by this milestone, their deity form starts to develop internally but most may not learn to transform into it until they are 9 or older, which is considered an additional type of puberty. The development of this form may cause discomfort or sudden pains until it has finished growing. They usually learn this on their own, but it's crucial in education for the child to be informed on what they are going through so they don't panic or worry in the process, causing distress and eventually leading to deformation or complications when not managed.

Baby aliens before civilization were either born in their 2nd or deity form unpredictably. Babies born in their 2nd form would visibly develop their deity form externally, and would learn how to hide it by the time they're 20 to 25, rather than needing to learn how to transform into it since it was already there. Evolution and adapting to urban lifestyles caused change and developmental delay over time, especially since these ancestors were used to living more like animals so it wasn't a concern to hide anything in favor of anyone else.

An example of this: a baby born in their 2nd form back then may have a second pair of arms visible since birth. By the time they're 9 months, wings and additional enlarged teeth may begin to grow. By the time they're 3, they may have additional eyes, fully grown teeth, and usable wings. From that point forward they'd fully develop into a monster.

But in modern times, babies are born in their 2nd form and their body learns organ repositioning on their own to hide and absorb basic features by the time they're 5. After this point, they will grow unidentified organs and features from the inside, and not learn how to utilize them until a few years later. This alien will appear seemingly normal by default because their deity form doesn't grow from the outside like they did a long time ago.

THE PURPOSE OF TRUE FORMS TODAY

In modernization, there is no direct purpose for hiding one's true form, and it is encouraged to NOT hide it when in strong spiritual affiliation or in a tribe of priests and priestesses (thus the term ‘religious deity’). Aliens are even more receptive to receiving spiritual insight and channeling divinity when their body is in its true form, because that is considered ultimate freedom and relaxation of the soul being in its authentic, natural vessel and not hiding.

Now that aliens are more educated, children and different similar species (including completely different species aliens who are aware of this galaxy) no longer feel threatened when encountering a deity form. Affiliation with non-monsters (communication with large animals or completely different species of aliens) is also much less occurring or needed than it was in ancient times, for the sake of protecting their livelihood from those who may want to hunt or capture them.

Many aliens prefer to live in their first form simply for convenience. Voice changes, size increases, and other factors sometimes make it hard to fit inside places or be recognized, and communicating can be overwhelming in this form due to the increased receptiveness to energy. An untrained alien may experience information overload when encountering others' auric fields in the outside world while living a modernized lifestyle.
